 Plus, they look super cute!

Hope you all get some pedicure love this week too!

New Earring Day!

Today was the first official Theme Day 2011, and I FORGOT! I went to school today wearing some regular old (fake) pearl earrings that I wear all the time. Sad.

At least I remembered in time to stop on the way home from work and get these sweet little owls (for some reason, I am really into little birds right now):

Cute, Right?

Here's the rest of my outfit from today. It's kind of a boring outfit - much improved by the addition of the new earrings!

Sweater & Tank Top: Ann Taylor Loft
Jeans: Banana Republic
Earrings: Charming Charlie

WIWW - In Italy!

I have to confess that this is not what I wore today, and these pictures really do not highlight my outfits, but I just couldn't resist showing off a few of my Italy pictures! I was there for a week over Spring Break, and it was beautiful and amazing. So here are a couple of my favorites...

With my aunt, with St. Peter's Basillica in the background, at the Vatican.

{Shirt: Banana Republic}

 Drinking Cappuchino at the hotel!

{Sweater & Gray Shirt: Ann Taylor Loft, Scarf: Little store by the Trevi Fountain}

With my aunt in front of the huge cathedral in Orvieto.

{Shirt: Ann Taylor Loft, Jeans: Banana Republic, Scarf: Store by the Trevi Fountain}

In front of the Colosseum - doesn't this one look like a postcard?

{Tanks: Target, Sweat: Ann Taylor Loft}

Throwing our coins in Trevi Fountain, making a wish to come back to Rome soon!

Grazie for stopping by our little blog! Ciao for now!

What I Actually Wore Wednesday

I call this outfit (and just so you know, I don't usually name my outfits) my "Today I might be losing my job for next year because of budget cuts, so I might as well look cute while it happens" outfit. The good news is, it didn't happen today. The bad news is, they are voting on it tonight. I guess I'll have to find another cute getting fired outfit for tomorrow! Fingers crossed for good news!

Cardigan: Ann Taylor Loft
Yellow T-Shirt: H&M
Skirt: Gap (Love it with the pockets!)
Tights: Gap
Shoes: Target
Fake Pearls: Kohl's

What I Wore Wednesday: St. Patrick's Day

This is kind of my anti-St. Patrick's Day outfit.

Like Aimee said, we are Scottish, so we're supposed to wear orange.

                But I'm also a first grade teacher, so I kinda have to wear green.

I decided to compromise and wear an orangey-yellow skirt today and save my green for tomorrow...

Here's a sneak peek at what I will be wearing tomorrow as I enjoy a Shamlocolate Shake...

What I Wore Wednesday: Channeling My Inner "Gleek"

Well, last night's episode might not have been the best ever, but today I am rocking a little Rachel Berry (from Glee) inspiration. Anyone catch the episode a couple of weeks ago where they all wore sweaters with horses on them? Hopefully my outfit today isn't quite as, um, interesting as some of Rachel's are, but the pickings are getting a little slim here at the end of February's clean out the closet challenge. (More on that challenge here). But here I am, in my little bird sweater...

Sweater = Old Navy (long ago)
Skirt = Gap (long ago)
Tights = ???
Boots = Ugg (they are there, I promise!)

P.S. If anyone's interested in helping us choose a new name for the blog, leave us a suggestion or check out our ideas here. Thanks!

What I Wore Wednesday: Why Do I Always Forget?

So I've been lookin' cute all week (am I allowed to say that about myself?)...until today. I woke up late and I knew I was staying at school late to work on report cards this afternoon, so I just threw on some comfy pants and one of my favorite yellow sweaters. I almost never wear these pants, and I'm not sure why because they are pretty comfortable and kinda cute - but since I'm trying to wear everything in my closet this month, I thought I'd give them a try today. What do you think - keep or donate at the end of the month?

P.S. Here are my cute outfits from Monday and Tuesday...

A funny story about the peacock tights: I was at Target, and the man standing behind me in line noticed them and started telling me all about how his aunt (or someone) used to live on a peacock farm and when he was little he used to go and collect all of the feathers out in the field and his mom has a whole vase full of them and blah, blah, blah. Maybe next time I'll wear them with the feathers facing the front to avoid unwanted conversations from behind!

What I Wore Wednesday

This is just a quick little What I Wore Wednesday...If you've made your way over from The Pleated Poppy, here's a little background on our little blog: My sister and I are embarking on some fashion adventures. Last month we could only wear 6 items of clothing for the month. This month's challenge is to wear all of our clothing to figure out which items we can live without and then donate them at the end to simplify our wardrobes.

First up is actually Monday's outfit (which is significantly cuter than today's). I couldn't choose just one picture - I love all the different facial expressions - so I included all three!

Sweater - anthropologie
Skirt - Gap (from long ago)
Gray T-shirt - H&M
Tights - Kohls
Boots - Emu
Scarf - Primark in London

Last night my cute little first graders had their music concert (in which I had a starring role as one of three narrators). This meant I was at school until far too late, and this morning I felt like it should not be time to go back already! Combine that with the FREEZING weather we are having, and I just had to wear something warm and comfy today. (This is actually a step up from sweatpants and a sweatshirt, which I wish I had been wearing all day!)

Sweater - Gap
Pants - NY&CO.
Scarf - Primark in London
Earrings - Sweet little birds from Etsy (Christmas gift from mom!)
Shoes - Be glad you can't see them. They are the oldest black shoes that I only wear to work!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

WiWW #2

I decided to link up again this week to Pleated Poppy's "What I Wore Wednesday."

And in case you've come from her site, here's the deal:  My sister & I have chosen to simplify this January.  At the beginning of the month, we chose six(ish) items of clothing from our closets and we are wearing only those six(ish) items this month.  If you want to find out more about our "rules", click here.  If you want to see our six items, click here or here.  If you want to know what our outfits have been looking like all month, just wander through any of our blogposts.

And now, onto what I actually wore Wednesday:
Cardigan & Dress (2 of my 6 items): Ann Taylor Loft
Necklace: Target (I think)
Belt: J. Crew (It's hard to see, but it's super cute!)
Shoes: Primark (from Scotland)

WiWW

Okay, my turn!  Since Allison linked up to the Pleated Poppy, I thought I'd better get on that too.  Here's what wore this Wednesday:

Dress & Cardigan - Ann Taylor Loft
Headband - homemade t-shirt upcycle creation
Belt/Sash - Target (from a different dress)
Necklace - It's so old!  I think it's a hand-me-down from Allison
Tights - Gap
Boots - Ugg

Don't worry the rest of the week will be posted when the week is over.  For now, check out other WIWWs on The Pleated Poppy!

What I Wore Wednesday

Last week, Aimee told me about The Pleated Poppy and Lindsey's mission to post her outfits every Wednesday. There are a bunch of blogs linked up and some people post all of their outfits from the week, and some just put up their outfit from the day. (If you're really interested in my outfits from this past week, check them out here).

It was too late to join in for last week, so I decided to link up today. What's one more challenge to add to this one, right?! This morning, I wasn't really thinking about it, so I guess my outfit could have been better. But at least I've got on Aimee's super cute necklace!

Black Cardigan - Ann Taylor Loft
Gray Tank Top - Ann Taylor Loft
White Tank Top - Target
Skinny Jeans - Old Navy
Boots - Emu's

A note about the necklace: the 1st graders were kind of surprised to discover that the flower on the necklace was not real (when they have ever seen a necklace with real flowers, I don't know, but that was the big discovery of the day!)
