***If you haven't entered our current giveaway yet, check it out here***

I am finally getting around to posting what I wore today.  To be honest, I was in my pajamas til noon and my workout clothes til three, so this should probably be titled "What I Wore Half of Wednesday (WIHoW)".  Oh well!  It's Spring Break.

The Pay it Forward Giveaway

So last month I somehow won a lot of giveaways. And while I loved all the great prizes, I thought it might be nice to split some of them... with one of you!

The winner of this giveaway will be receiving a ponytail holder from Aprikot Designs, some of my flower bobby pins from Fl(h)air, and a bracelet from My Bag in the Attic.

And since I've been into crafting up some poofy pins - from old t-shirt material, felt, whatever - I think I'll throw in one of those in too.  The winner can choose which color: yellow, blue, or pink.

All four prizes will go to one winner.  To enter, leave a comment telling us your favorite thing about Spring. For a second entry, follow our blog via Google Friend Connect, and let us know you're a follower in another comment.  Giveaway will end a week from Saturday (April 9), and the winner (chosen through random.org) will be announced the following Sunday.

Six Items Go To Italy!

It's Spring Break, and I'm off to visit my cousin who is studying art in Italy!

My packing strategy is usually to bring as much as I can possibly fit into my suitcase. I end up bringing a super heavy suitcase full of lots of extra clothes. Ooh, sounds a lot like my closet.

Since I've been trying to do more with less clothing (see the Six Items and/or Clean Out The Closet Challenges), plus I have a bag of my cousin's stuff to bring, I decided to try to take my six items on the road (or in the air, as the case may be).

Turned out to be more difficult than I thought. I really wanted to just put my six items in, close up the suitcase, and be on my way. But, since it's an entirely different country and I'm not really sure about the weather (hopefully 60's and sunny, but probably rainy!), I had a really hard time not adding more items!

So here's what I ended up packing...

And here's how it all fit in the suitcase with my shoes, my cousin's clothes, coats, etc...

Hopefully I won't be wishing I had just stuffed the suitcase until it exploded!

Ciao for now...See you in a week!

Job or No Job?

Here's what I looked like for most of the day today...

This morning I thought I had been cut. I was already mentally planning what I could do next.

By lunch time some of my friends had already gotten their pink slips, and I was just waiting to get mine.

Then toward the end of the day I found out that my bilingual certification (which I haven't been using for the past 5 years) saved me. So the good news is, I get to keep my job. The bad news is, I might be stuck in a bilingual classroom next year.

Yikes! Better brush up on my Spanish!

P.S. Thanks for all of your sweet comments and support. Looks like I'm safe for now!

What I Actually Wore Wednesday

I call this outfit (and just so you know, I don't usually name my outfits) my "Today I might be losing my job for next year because of budget cuts, so I might as well look cute while it happens" outfit. The good news is, it didn't happen today. The bad news is, they are voting on it tonight. I guess I'll have to find another cute getting fired outfit for tomorrow! Fingers crossed for good news!

And the Winner is...

Thank you so much to everyone who entered our first giveaway. We loved reading about all your favorite green things: everything from grass to eyes to Ireland! I must say that my favorite is the same as Clarissa, who said avocados and guacamole. I have a slight obsession with guacamole at the moment.

Okay onto the good stuff. Our winner was chosen via random.org, and the winner is......

Comment #12: Kitty from A Law Student's Journey.
Congratulations Kitty!  I will be emailing you soon to get your information.

If you didn't win, be looking for at least one more giveaway here this month.  Also, check out Kitty (the winner)'s blog because she has a giveaway going on right now!

Another Accessory Win

Not only did Allison win a pair of earrings this month, but I did too!

Well, I actually won a $10 credit to Paige's shop Pink Lemonade, but this is what I picked.  Aren't these little yellow rosette earrings adorable?  They remind me of Spring.  And even though it doesn't feel like Spring outside, I took some earring pics out there.

Pink Lemonade has a bunch of other fun accessories like headbands, necklaces, bracelets, hats, and more. Check out her shop here.

What I Wore Wednesday: St. Patrick's Day

This is kind of my anti-St. Patrick's Day outfit.

Like Aimee said, we are Scottish, so we're supposed to wear orange.

But I'm also a first grade teacher, so I kinda have to wear green.

I decided to compromise and wear an orangey-yellow skirt today and save my green for tomorrow...

Here's a sneak peek at what I will be wearing tomorrow as I enjoy a Shamlocolate Shake...

Week of St. Patty's Day & a Giveaway

Okay, I've got to be honest here - I'm actually not all that into St. Patrick's Day. Being Scottish, I'm supposed to wear ORANGE instead of green on March 17th. But since so many of you liked Al's necklace last week and since it's green,

I decided to make another one for one of you. A little St. Patty's gift if you will.
{I forgot to add the knots on either side but can easily add them if the winner wants them!}

So here's the deal. This giveaway will be open until Saturday, March 19 (the end of St. Patrick's Day week). To enter, leave a comment letting us know your favorite thing that's green! For a second entry, follow our blog via Google Friend Connect, and leave us a comment letting us know that you do. That's it. Winner will be announced Sunday, March 20.

Saturday Snapshot

I just discovered Yellow Songbird's fun little link up party: Saturday Snapshots.  So I'm linking up and sharing with you this picture:

Today is a little blustery.  I'm wishing that I was still in Florida wearing those sunglasses!

Sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories, which is why I've developed a collection of sorts. I used to keep a cup full of them in my car and whenever I drove youth group girls anywhere I'd make them all wear a pair. The collection has dwindled since then, but I still love a good pair of funky sunglasses.  The ones in the picture are a recent find at a flea market in Florida.

Happy (Almost) Spring!

Just a few things to remind you that Spring is on it's way...

The daffodils have arrived at Trader Joe's!

This was me, driving home from work today. I actually needed the sunglasses!

And this is what I was drinking!

If you've never tried a Shamlocolate Shake, go get one now!
It's half chocolate, half shamrock and it tastes like a thin mint cookie - delicious!

Happy (Almost) Spring and Happy Friday!

Flower Necklaces

Lately I've had my eye on some super cute flower necklaces. There are lots to choose from, but these are a few of my favorites...

From Allora Handmade                                       From Pretty In Pink
Pretty In Pink Statement Necklace FREE SHIP

Super cute, right? The problem is, they are a bit pricey. But so cute and fun. I thought I might have to wait until I magically became creative and crafty so I could make one myself.

But, Aimee's been doing a little bit of crafting lately - making cute flowers and headbands out of old t-shirts and material she has at home. Check out the adorable headband she made here.

So I was super excited when she gave me this necklace...

Wow! It looks just like the ones I've been wanting. I wore it to work the other day, and it definitely spiced up my otherwise plain outfit...

Next step = Aimee teaching me how to make flowers so I can create more of my own lovely necklaces!
P.S. Linking up with http://diyhshp.blogspot.com/ for the More the Merrier Link Party!
