I have this lovely white tank top with a giant flower on it. I used to wear it all the time - I even thought about choosing it for one of my six items way back in January. It was great for wearing under sweaters or on its own. And I just loved that giant white flower!
See how great?
Well, I wore it so much that it started to get all stretched out and holey. So I decided to re-make it by sewing the flower onto a different shirt. And by re-make it, I actually mean have my mom re-make it because I really can't sew worth anything. I mean, back in the day I did make a pretty sweet vest out of pink pig fabric for an AWANA project and once some (kinda ugly) "love bug" pillows as a Mother's Day gift, but that's about where the sewing "talent" ends! So I headed over to mom's house for a fun filled sewing day (which basically means mom sews and I play games on my phone and look over her shoulder).
Gather the 2 shirts.
Cut out the flower from the white shirt.
Just cut right around the edges.
Step Two (with a little help):
Then pin it in place.
Step Three: Have mom sew the white flower in place.
Or if you are blessed with sewing talent, do it yourself!
And here's the finished product:
That came out so cute! I love rescuing clothes that would otherwise be junk . . . you (or your mom) did a great job ;-)

i am a tee junkie! this came out really well!
ReplyDeleteNice job. My favorite shirts usually end up becoming holey. It's nice to be able to have them "live on" as part of another shirt! Awesome!
